"ROTTEN" - Installation Art Exhibition

Theme :

"Rotten" is an independent exhibition with no institutional or commercial intervention. It aims to foreground issue to initiate dialogue - which is a necessity of contemporary art practice. With the independent spirit and prominent characters in the artworks making the exhibition a communication platform, inviting audience to open discussions.

ROTTEN:

  1. When something turns bad or decays, particularly when the surface of the object experiences chemical reaction or electro-chemistry reaction with surrounding elements. As in the corrosion of metal, or fungi and bacterial decomposition of organic bodies.
  2. Corruption of thoughts and characters, especially in social systems or organizations. Also use to describe appalling social environment leading people to decadence.
  3. Besides the above-mentioned, it also means the ending of something old and the consequential commences of something new. Hence, stimulating the artist to search for new possibility or new definition to an object.
